| The Three Witches |
Shakespeare introduces three witches in the beginning of MacBeth. The three witches are evil and dark. They can tell the future and with this power they inform MacBeth that he will become King and the Thane of Cawdor. The thought of becoming king haunts MacBeth and Lady MacBeth. The witches make the statement of "foul is fair and fair is foul" in the beginning of this act as well. I believe that this statement means that what the witches believe is "fair", like killing King Duncan, is "foul" to the common man, like MacBeth. MacBeth and his wife hold a dinner for King Duncan after he invites himself over. MacBeth feels guilty for having the thoughts of killing Duncan. Lady MacBeth calls on evil powers to help her kill Duncan. MacBeth is forced to kill Duncan with his own attendants' weapons after Lady MacBeth makes the attendants get drunk. Now I wonder if MacBeth and Lady
MacBeth will have the strength to kill Duncan and get away with the murder.
Its labeled very well, very easy to find exactly what I'm looking for. Also I like the color scheme.
